We’re very pleased to be able to announce our next two candidates standing for Bradford on Avon Town Council at the local election in May. We're up to eight now!
Holly Taylor (Candidate, North Ward).
Holly’s lived in Bradford on Avon since 2009 and has two young children. She works in government communications and stakeholder engagement and has worked and volunteered in the charity sector. She’s a newcomer to the candidate team, but Holly has been working behind the scenes with Ideal Bradford since 2017.
Holly's interested in changing local democratic systems for the better, making them simpler, more representative and more accessible – especially for those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.
If you live on the north side of town, the chances are you’ve seen or participated in one of the many community projects that she’s played a part in, from yarn-bombing to Christmas carol singalongs!
And Nick Aslett (Candidate, South Ward).
Nick’s been in Bradford for 23 years, and brought his family up here. He’s worked as a school teacher, and for Wiltshire Council in the Children and Families branch. He recently returned to university and fulfilled a long-held ambition to become a social worker. He plays tennis at a local club and plays in a local band that can often be heard in the cellar bar of the Swan!
He's keen to help our town to celebrate its diversity, capture as broad a range of views and ideas as possible, and help the Town Council work for the benefit of everyone who lives in, works in or visits Bradford. He’s a passionate advocate of building a sustainable future and wants to be part of building a bright green future for Bradford on Avon.
